- The lyric of each song with the key terms (vocab) in bold.
- A full vocabulary and definition sheet for each song.
- A leveled work sheet for each song which provides tiered and scaffolded questions for each student depending their individual abilities. These questions are based upon Bloom's Taxonomy and Depth of Knowledge principles and many TIER 3 questions provided an opportunity for higher order thinking.

New From History Tunes: Downloadable and Printable PDF Resource Packet!!

We are happy to announce that History Tunes has a new resource available for your Social Studies classroom! A downloadable and printable PDF of ALL of our worksheets is now available from our site. The resources included in this file are a topic synopsis, the lyrics with bold vocabulary, the vocabulary and definitions, and the tiered questions work sheet for EACH of the 50 songs! This comes to 182 pages that YOU can use in your classroom! Now you can print out the lyrics and the vocabulary for your students when introducing the topic/song and use the tiered question work sheets to differentiate and assess!

Here is an example, using the History Tunes song Articles of Confederation, of what you will be able to do in class:

1) Play the song!!

2) While they listen they read the lyrics which have the key terms in bold.

3) They can use the Key Terms sheet to learn the vocab.

4) You can pass out the Tiered Question before or after to assess understanding.

Central High: The Past Comes Alive

Seeing Central High with our own eyes as we drove coast to coast this summer, a 7000 mile journey from NYC to LA and back, was an emotional experience for us. Explaining the history to our children, driving around the neighborhood, and speaking to people about the current conditions of the school really brought the past alive. We were left wondering if the students that attend this school today understand the place in history their school holds.
